The week is filled with encounters, big and small, arranged and spontaneous. The opening ceremony is the week’s major gathering. A two-hour long show with music, dancing, fireworks, a presentation of all participating nations and joy unbounded. With 50000 people in a packed Ullevi, everyone’s there.

Shiver with excitement
Previous participants have compared it to an Olympic ceremony and that’s the idea. The atmosphere surrounding the opening ceremony is electric enough to make you shiver with excitement. It’s a memory you’ll remember and smile at for the rest of your life.
Tickets
A physical ticket is needed to enter the opening ceremony. You will receive your ticket with your preordered Gothia Card. Only Gothia Card is not vald as ticket. When purchasing Gothia Card during the tournament, opening ceremony tickets are included if we have tickets left.

Music from all corners of the world is played when participants from all the nations enter the arena and when the year's song is played it's the audience that takes care of the singing. You may also find yourself reflecting and find out that Gothia Cup is much more than just football.
The audience
When the Gothia Opening Ceremony is held everyone is there. Over 50000 players, leaders, supporters and locals create a magical atmosphere at Ullevi Stadium. It creates a special fellowship and joy when the audience takes part of the show and when youths from all over the world are cooperating and having fun together we feel pride.
