Gothia Cup Foundation Creates Opportunities for More

Gothia Cup Foundation makes it possible for young people from all over the world to participate in the tournament in Gothenburg, regardless of background or circumstances. – This is the best tournament I’ve played, says Justin David Andrade Pleitez.

Thanks to the Gothia Cup Foundation, young people from all over the world get the opportunity to experience Gothia Cup. Through financial support, teams that otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance are able to participate in the tournament in Gothenburg. With support from the Gothia Cup Foundation, this meeting place becomes accessible even to those who would otherwise be left out.

– The Gothia Cup Foundation makes it possible for Gothia Cup to be a true meeting place for children and young people from all over the world, regardless of their circumstances. This year, the Gothia Cup Foundation is allocating SEK 3.7 million to support teams from under-resourced countries where football is still developing. It gives children and youth a chance to experience something they would otherwise never have had – to play football, meet other cultures, and create memories for life, says Niclas Freiholtz.

Academia Formativa Golden Futbol from Chile is one of the teams that has received support from the Gothia Cup Foundation.
– It feels really good to be here. It’s been a long trip to get here, but it’s been worth it. The competition is so high, and this is the best tournament I’ve ever played in, says Justin David Andrade Pleitez.
