Green hosts back at Gothia Cup
Sustainability is a central part of Gothia Cup's work. As part of our climate effort, the green hosts work to collect all waste at Heden and ensure that it is sorted and recycled. – The sorting is crucial for our waste to be useful, otherwise, it will just be incinerated, says cleaning supervisor Johan Elmklo.

Behind the field at Heden, the green hosts are busy sorting waste collected from trash bins and picked up from the ground. Each garbage bag is carefully examined and sorted into four containers. Organic waste, plastic, cardboard, and combustible waste. Johan Elmklo is on site overseeing the work of the green hosts.
– With the hosts, our work becomes much more efficient, and we save the Earth's resources.
The green hosts are part of Gothia Cup's sustainability efforts, and their job is not just to sort waste. They are also on-site to spread knowledge and increase environmental awareness during the tournament. Adrian Nunes hopes and believes that his work positively affects the visitors.
– For me, it is important that the site is clean and looks fresh. Everyone who comes here pays to be here, so it is important that they have a good experience. This is Gothia Cup, and it is something big, people should see that it is nice here, says Adrian Nunes.
