Hammarby IF Claims Gold in G14B

The final day at SKF Arena began with the decision in G14B, where Hammarby IF and Vallentuna BK 2 competed for the title. The teams were closely matched during a tight and even first half, where both defenses delivered solid performances. Despite several attempts from both sides, neither team managed to break the deadlock before halftime, and the score remained 0-0 as the players headed into the break.

The goalless score held for a while into the second half before the decisive moment of the final arrived. In the 46th minute, Inez Olmedo Aalto seized her opportunity and scored 1-0 for Hammarby IF. The goal became the only one of the match and gave the Stockholm team an important lead in the race for the gold.

After taking the lead, Hammarby continued to control large parts of the game, and after the final whistle, goalscorer Inez Olmedo Aalto was named the match's most valuable player. She describes the feeling after the victory as special and emphasizes the team's camaraderie throughout the tournament week.
– It feels really great to stand here as a winner. The unity within the team has been incredibly good this week, she says.

She also believes that Hammarby had the upper hand in the final for most of the match, even if it took some time before the reward came.
– I think we had the advantage throughout the match, and it felt really good to win, says Inez Olmedo Aalto.

The victory means that Hammarby IF concludes this year's Gothia Cup in the best possible way and can leave SKF Arena as champions of G14B after a well-played and closely contested final.
