IFK Göteborg won the B14 gold against the Spanish team Imperial Future in front of a cheering arena after an impressive penalty shootout. – It means everything to represent our team here at home in Gothenburg, says the match's MVP Rio Darvas.

It was at a packed SKF Arena that IFK Göteborg took the field to face Imperial Future. The first half was even, and Imperial Future managed to create many dangerous opportunities, but thanks to impressive performances from both goalkeepers, the score was 0-0 at halftime.
As soon as the second half started, the match intensified, with IFK Göteborg taking the lead within ten minutes with two close goals. For a long time, it seemed like a clear victory for IFK Göteborg, but with ten minutes left in the match, Imperial Future made a strong comeback. In just two minutes, the team managed to score two goals, thus equalizing the match, which went to penalties. The match's MVP, Rio Darvas, is proud that the team fought on despite the setbacks.
– We work as a team, we keep going even if we go down to 2-2, we still believe in ourselves, so we win that streak, says Rio Darvas.
Both teams impressed with their penalty shots, and it took until the sixth round before IFK Göteborg finally broke the goal streak with a skillfull save. The match seemed to be decided, but after a missed penalty from IFK Göteborg, the match continued with two more rounds of penalties before Göteborg could finally declare themselves the winners in the match that ended 8-7. For Rio Darvas, it has been significant to play and win in his own hometown.
– I am really proud, and it feels so good to win at home. We have fought for this for a long time, he says.
