The club from Tanzania: “Taking part in this tournament is marvelous”

Magnet Youth Sports Academy from Tanzania will come to Gothia Cup this summer.

The Tanzanians are incredibly happy to get the chance to participate in Gothia Cup 2023.
– It’s an opportunity to showcase our talents and capabilities, says the chairman Tuntufye Mwambusi.

He tells us about their club.
– Magnet Youth Sports Academy is an amazing sports academy and being part of the academy is the best choice our parents and us have made. We train under the supervision of excellent coaches who are always there to support and guide the players. Discipline, leadership, team work as well as dedication are values uniting the players together. The academy trains boys and girls from four to 19 years old and has a senior team which is in the third league in Tanzania. Its operations go back to 2014, says Tuntufye Mwambusi.
Magnet Youth Sports Academy will be represented by two teams. They will compete in the categories B14B and B16.
– We’ve decided to participate in this tournament because it’s the biggest youth tournament in the world and we will have an opportunity to showcase our talents and capabilities, and this is part of the football training process. It’s also a chance for us to improve and evaluate ourselves against international standards. It’s a great opportunity for us to be part of this event to show what we’re capable of and learn from others, he says.

They can’t wait to make the trip from Tanzania to Sweden in July.
– Despite of the cost involved on air ticketing and others, our hearts are full of joy to the extent we forget even the distance we have to travel! Taking part in this tournament is marvelous and exciting. We thank our parents, our academy and organizers for availing us this life time opportunity.
What are you most excited about?
– Each year Gothia Cup offers different experiences and we can’t get tired of it; the opening ceremony at Ullevi, the local traveling experience from one pitch to another, culture exchange and the people/spectators makes it feel like time flies fast. The great food we eat during the tournament and the nice schools we stays are something that we look forward to.We’re also excited about the games we will play to showcase our potential. We now working into getting close to the final stage or the final itself, says Tuntufye Mwambusi.
