Gothia Cup

Jitex won Gothia Cup without conceding one single goal

Jitex BK-Varberg BoIS (1-0)

Final in the oldest age group between the two Swedish teams, Jitex BK and Varberg Bois. A match that could have been anticipated to be low-scoring, given Jitex's defensive strength, the team had not conceded a single goal throughout the entire tournament leading up to the final.

The first half was mostly about gaining respect from the opponents. Neither Jitex nor Varberg created many clear chances, and the teams reached halftime with a 0-0 scoreline.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, with no real goal-scoring opportunities and more of a midfield battle. It was not until the 47th minute that the first truly dangerous chance came, with Varberg hitting the post from a long-range shot. Jitex, on the other hand, managed to capitalize on their chance. After a fantastic setup from the wing, Captain Jenny Helgesson scored to make it 1-0.

-It was an incredible feeling when I saw Jenny score the goal. I just jumped around near the goal in euphoria, said an ecstatic Klara Tidblom.

Jitex went through the entire tournament without conceding a single goal, an incredible feat.

-We have been playing together for so long now, and we are such good friends. That is what led to our success. Everyone works incredibly hard for each other. I have such a great defense in front of me that I didn't have to do much, said Klara.

Klara Tidblom was later awarded the title of the match's best player, something she is proud of, while also emphasizing that it's the collective effort that made this success possible.
