Fair Play for a Better Environment On and Off the Field
Fair Play, or the lack thereof, is a problem in sports. Especially if it takes root among the young, who are developing both as athletes and individuals. For the Gothia Cup, the right attitudes are crucial. Celebrate the Game is a fair play project organized by the event to create a better environment for everyone, both on and off the field. The project consists of several sub-projects: the Fair Play Trophy, Please Remember signs, and Team Steward.
To create an even better environment, the Gothia Cup also has referee observers and match delegates. All of this is to increase respect for Fair Play among participants, coaches, spectators, delegates, and parents.
Team Steward
The team is responsible for Fair Play. To reinforce this, one person per team is appointed, it can be a leader or another accompanying individual, who is responsible for their own team. The Team Steward is listed in the team lineup and is responsible for the behavior of their own team, the leaders, and the supporters during the matches.
Please remember
The Gothia Cup develops young people and gives them memories for life. These should be happy memories, where players, coaches, and officials have received encouragement. Therefore, there are Please Remember signs at all playing areas. These are short messages with reminders such as 'This is youth football,' 'The referees are human,' 'The coaches are volunteers,' and 'The parents cheer for everyone.' The purpose of these signs is to help remind each other of what is most important on and off our sports fields.
Match delegates
To maintain fair play during all matches, we believe it is important to always have people on site who observe and report what happens on and off the field. Therefore, during the Gothia Cup, there are match delegates at all playing areas. The match delegates are there to support players, coaches, referees, and officials and to encourage everyone to act in the spirit of Celebrate the Game.
Fair Play Trophy
Gothia Cup celebrates Fair Play. To increase the pride among participants, we award the Fair Play Trophy. The teams that are nominated have demonstrated good behavior during this year's tournament. And it's not just the participants and coaches who are assessed. The team's supporters must also have contributed to a positive atmosphere around the matches.

The Game
Celebrate the Game är ett fair play-projekt som Gothia Cup driver tillsammans med Länsförsäkringar för att skapa en bättre miljö för alla, såväl på som vid sidan av planen. Vår övertygelse är att vi alla – spelare, ledare, föräldrar, domare, supportrar och arrangörsorganisationen – kan hjälpas åt att påminna varandra om att respektera varandra och att tänka på hur vi uppträder mot varandra. Tillsammans skapar vi ett ännu bättre klimat på och runt våra planer.

Matchdelegater
För att bibehålla fair play under alla matcher, tror vi att det är viktigt att det alltid finns personer på plats som observerar och rapporterar om vad som händer på och vid sidan av planen. Under Gothia Cup finns därför matchdelegater på alla spelområden. Matchdelegaterna finns på plats för att stötta spelare, ledare, domare och funktionärer och uppmuntra alla till att agera i Celebrate the Game-anda.

Fair Play Trophy
Fair Play Trophy delas ut under Gothia Cup. Den eller de nominerade ska ha visat prov på ett gott uppträdande under årets turnering. Den/de nominerade ska under hela cupen ha agerat på ett föredömligt sätt mot såväl motståndare som domare och andra funktionärer. Även lagets supportrar ska på ett positivt vis ha bidragit till att sprida en god stämning runt laget och deras matcher.
Det är ni som bestämmer vem som skall nomineras. Det kan vara ett helt lag, en enskild spelare eller en supportergrupp. Visst har vi våra domare och matchdelegater som nominerar, men vi tror att ni som besökare eller deltagare uppmärksammar ännu mer positiva händelser i sann Fair Play anda.
Ett lag kan även nominera en motståndare efter en match.
För att nominera använder ni vårt formulär på hemsidan. Där får ni, med en kort kommentar, förklara varför ni tycker att laget, gruppen eller personen är en bra Celebrate the Game-ambassadör. Tillsammans hittar vi den som bidrar till Gothia Cup-andan på ett sätt som gör sig förtjänt av att belönas med Fair Play Trophy!
