Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Costa Rica wins prize for being best dressed

The club with the best costume and performance wins free participation fees for up to 18 players in category A in the Gothia Cup next year.

The SKF Meet The World team, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Costa Rica, who plays in the G13 category, wins the prize for being best dressed during the opening ceremony.

In Costa Rica, there is a traditional costume for women and one for men. The one for women, which was presented at the opening ceremony by the girls' team, consists of a white blouse with embroidery and a wide skirt in blue, white, and red, often with ruffles and decorations. The skirt is usually striped in these colors, reflecting the country's flag.

The red color symbolizes the blood shed by those who fought for the country's freedom and independence. It also represents the warmth and generosity of the Costa Rican people.

The white color stands for peace, wisdom, and happiness. It also symbolizes the country's pursuit of maintaining peace and democracy.

The blue color represents the sky, opportunities, and perseverance. It also stands for Costa Rica's aspiration for freedom and the natural beauty of the country's coastline and waters.

Both the players and the leaders of the team are overjoyed when they find out that they have won the competition and are invited on a free trip to the Gothia Cup next year. They jump and dance together, and some shed tears of joy.
- You don't understand how much this means to us. We are struggling financially and really couldn't afford to come here this year, but we received help from sponsors, says one of the team's coaches in pure euphoria.

Congratulations, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Costa Rica, and see you next year!
