The Portuguese football profile Nuno Gomes has had a long and successful playing career. With over 70 international caps for Portugal, twelve seasons at SL Benfica, and a stint at Italian club ACF Fiorentina, he has participated in some of the biggest international tournaments, including the European Championships in 2000 and 2004, as well as the World Cups in 2002 and 2006.
– I dreamed of becoming a professional footballer as a child, and I was fortunate to live that dream. Football has been my life, and it continues to be so today, especially when it comes to supporting the development of young talents, he says.
Nuno Gomes is in Gothenburg for the first time to follow his son, who is participating with the Portuguese team Cascais.
– I’m here as a father, but also as a supporter and representative of the team — and I must say that Gothia Cup has exceeded all expectations, he says.
