The film "Forever" is about friendship and the Gothia Cup
The upcoming youth film "Forever" will be filmed today at BK Häcken's home stadium Bravida Arena.
Scenes from the upcoming youth film "Forever", where the Gothia Cup is in focus, will be filmed today at BK Häcken's home ground Bravida Arena.
– In the film, we want to give the image that the Gothia Cup is the world's largest football tournament, with the feeling of size and the feeling of a fantastic adventure where dreams can come true, says producer Stefan Lindén.
The film is about two 14-year-old best friends who dream of becoming football professionals. This week, scenes have been filmed at Gothia Park Academy and during Friday, scenes will be filmed at Bravida Arena.
- It will be fantastic fun to film at Bravida Arena. I have previously worked a lot with filming sports, especially in one of my previous projects "Eagles". That time it was hockey, now it's football. It's always quite difficult to film sports, especially to get it interesting and fast-paced on film, says producer Stefan Lindén at SF Studios.
Anders Hazelius directs the film. But the experienced sports director Simon Ekbäck Nordström is responsible for the football scenes.
– Simon is one of Sweden's best sports directors. We've been working with Simon since September last year and built up things that we've tested during the spring. So we're as prepared as we can be. Then it's always fun to be in unique places and film unique things. It's incredibly rewarding, says the producer.
He knows what he wants to achieve with the film.
- The goal is probably a bit cocky but it's to make the best football film made in Sweden. But above all, it's about creating an inspiring story about following your dreams but also about sacrifices you may have to make as a young person to reach them. The goal is for young girls to dare to dream but also recognize themselves in the story, says Stefan Lindén.
The people who are part of the production team have slightly different experiences of Gothia Cup.
– Considering the size of the cup, there are always some in the team who have played the Gothia Cup and when you ask them, they all say that it was so much fun. For us who didn't play the Gothia Cup, we've only got the impression that it's something you should experience as a young person, says Stefan Lindén and continues:
– From the film's perspective, which is about following your dreams, it really feels like there couldn't have been a better match since the story is about the dream of winning the Gothia Cup.
"Forever" will be shown in Swedish cinemas next year.
