EDY Sport Enrichment Center represents Ethiopia at this year's opening ceremony

The excitement outside Ullevi ahead of the Gothia Cup's opening ceremony was palpable. Ethiopian team EDY Sport Enrichment Center's B18 team was among the happy teams waiting outside.
- I am very excited, says Natsantet Tafasse, captain of the Ethiopian team.
EDY Sport Enrichment Center is with its two teams Ethiopia's only representative in the Gothia Cup 2024.
- It feels very good. It is always a great honour to get the chance to represent your country, especially in a tournament like the Gothia Cup, says Natsantet Tafasse, captain of the Ethiopian B18 team.
The Gothia Cup's opening ceremony is always a celebration that fills Ullevi with 50,000 joyful players and leaders. For Natsantet Tafasse, it is his first time at the opening ceremony.
- It will be an amazing feeling to walk in there. I am very excited to be here and get the chance to experience the opening ceremony in person, he says.
Natsantet Tafasse has enjoyed his first days in Sweden with his team.
- It is a fantastic opportunity to come here. The tournament is incredibly well-organized, and it's fun to see people from so many different countries, he says.
On Sunday, the Ethiopians made new friends at Gothia Cup in the name of football.
- We watched the Euro final between Spain and England together with both Spaniards and English people. It was an incredible experience to meet people from other cultures with a common interest, says Natsantet Tafasse.
