Gothia Cup

Experienced Stabaek is ready for the Gothia Cup 2024

The Norwegian academy has arrived after a bus journey from Bærum.

This year's edition of the Gothia Cup includes 1911 teams. Some clubs are here for the first time, while others have been here many times before. Stabaek Fotball is a club that is very familiar with the Gothia Cup, both in boys' and girls' football.

It is with energy in their steps and laughter in the air that Stabaek B15 arrives at Quality Hotel in Mölndal. They left their Norwegian hometown Baerum early this morning for a 4-hour bus journey.
- The journey here was enjoyable. We talked, laughed, and listened to music, says Jonas Wallace, who plays midfield for the team.

Stabaek is an experienced and well-known football club in Norway. The men's team has won both the highest league and the domestic cup. Today, they play in the second highest division but have bright prospects for the future with strong youth teams.
- We have participated in many international tournaments before, including in Denmark and Norway, and those tournaments have gone relatively well. We have come to the Gothia Cup with great confidence and aim to win everything, says Henrik Horvei, one of the team's goalkeepers.

While enjoying the moment and eagerly awaiting the chance to play tournament football again, there are big dreams of one day standing on the biggest stages in the football world. When asked which club they would like to play for in the future, they are in agreement.
- Liverpool, they both say firmly.

Tomorrow, an early morning awaits to kick off the group stage, but first, settling into the hotel and enjoying a long-awaited dinner.
