Gothia Cup 2026 by the Numbers

On July 12, thousands of young football players will arrive in Gothenburg. That marks the beginning of Gothia Cup, the world's largest international football tournament. Here’s Gothia Cup by the numbers.

Boys/Girls: Approximately 70/30 percent 
Number of participants (players + leaders): 45,300 people

Sustainability
Food saved 2025: 13 tons to the Rescue Mission with a value of SEK 550,000.

Celebrate the Planet: Reduction of CO2 2023-2025 by 35% in the area of food.

Number of volunteers: 2,600 (including 650 referees).
We train young people: 46% of all volunteers are 19 years old or younger. They come from all over the Gothenburg region.

Clubs: 34 clubs are engaged in the cup for a contribution.

Tourism economic impact: July 12-18: SEK 993 million

Civil defense: The tournament has an emergency stockpile that serves as a resource for Gothenburg, including 9,000 mattresses. We will support Gothenburg in its work with Safety Points starting this autumn.
