Gothia Cup

Hammarby IF won the G13 Final: "A Fantastic Feeling"

It was an eventful match with a lot of energy.

The third final match of the day at SKF Arena was played between Jitex BK and Hammarby IF in the G13 category. The encounter featured two technically skilled teams that both preferred to play the ball along the back. With few touches and much movement, the game had a fast tempo and was eventful.
- We fought hard, encouraged each other, and got our game going, says the team's Nicole Rydberg, who won the Gothia Cup for the second year in a row with Hammarby.

The first half started evenly. Hammarby frequently exploited their fast wingers who ran along the flanks and delivered crosses. Jitex displayed a solid and well-placed defense that prevented the crosses from becoming dangerous scoring opportunities.
- Jitex had a very good defense that stood tight, it was difficult to get through them, Nicole continues.

Towards the end of the first half, Hammarby began to take control more and more. Despite this, Jitex held firm in front of their goal and forced Hammarby to shoot from outside the penalty area. Jitex's skilled goalkeeper, Ronja Iglamyhr, made several excellent saves, allowing the pressured Jitex to go into halftime with the score at 0-0.

A few minutes into the second half, Jitex could no longer hold out. Hammarby took the lead after a well-built attack that ended with a beautifully placed shot by number 10, Sharon Tuvesson.

Just minutes later, Hammarby extended their lead to 2-0 through number 79, Chrisoula Triantafilidou, which also became the final score of the match.
- The feeling right now is absolutely incredible, we have our fans with us and team spirit is at its peak, Nicole concludes.
