Spanish CDI won the B17 final after a strong performance

CD Inter Vista Alegre - JFV A/O/B/H/H 2–0 (1–0)

The B17 final between Spanish side CD Inter Vista Alegre and German team JFV A/O/B/H/H was exciting. The Germans did well but it was a convincing display from the Spanish side.

The Spaniards showed their intentions from the start and their pressure paid off as they got an early goal in. A long cross into the box found CDI's Pedro Madruga Garcia at the far post who got a foot to it. The goalkeeper blocked it but lost the ball and Garcia could jump on the return and put it in the back of the net.

The start of the second half saw CDI continuing to apply much of the same pressure in JFV’s part of the pitch. CDI won a corner, which found its way into the box and landed at the feet of captain Hugo Lopez who could guide it past the goalkeeper. JFV did not lose their temperament but kept rolling the ball and patiently playing the ball upp the pitch. It was not enough to break through the solid Spanish team.

– I’m feeling very excited right now. It’s very emotional, says Hugo Lopez, who was awarded player of the match.

The team ran to celebrate with their support in the stands after the final whistle.
– They mean a lot, they were here all game and we won because of them, Lopez says.

The team knows what they’re going to be doing tonight.
– We’re going to celebrate like crazy, Lopez says.
