The big talent scored the winning goal for Avaldsnes IL - and it was beautiful

Avaldsnes IL from Norway faced the local team IFK Göteborg in the G18 final. And the Norwegians won after a solo goal by the gifted Cille Nilsen.
– It’s very big to win the Gothia Cup, says the 16-year-old.


Viktoria Sörensen gave the Norwegians the lead in the first half. Avaldsnes IL had great chances to score another goal in the second half. The Norwegian goalkeeper Synne Danielsen also made a crucial save on a heavy shot. Cille Nilsen then scored a wonderful goal five minutes before full time that secured the win. She dribbled the ball past several players before she scored with a cool finish. Avaldsnes IL won the G18 final with two goals to zero.
– It feels really good to win the final. It’s very big to win the Gothia Cup, because it’s one of the biggest tournaments in the world, says Cille Nilsen.

She’s only 16 years old but she’s already playing for their senior team in the top division.
– I still have a long way to go, but I develop all the time. I hope I can be as good as possible.
Cille Nilsen will celebrate with her team tonight.
– We will have fun, all together, says the very talented player.
