The guys from Katrineholm are looking forward to exciting matches at Gothia Cup
Right now the focus is on training and matches for the team from Katrineholms SK who last autumn were surprised by SKF and Gothia Boost Tour, they had won their participation in Gothia Cup 2022. The players now look forward to the summer and to play against teams they have never played against before.
For the boys from Katrineholms SK, focus right during spring is on training and matches. Since the league began at the turn of the month April-May, they have trainings three times a week and play matches on the weekends. This year they have something extra to train and look forward to, their participation in Gothia Cup.
Last autumn, the coaches gathered their team for a tactical review, but instead of a regular review, the team was surprised by SKF and Gothia Boost Tour, they had won their participation in the Gothia Cup this summer. The win was very welcome for the team that have had a tough time with several players quitting the team during the pandemic.
That we won the Gothia Boost Tour has really boosted the boys motivation. There are many who do a little extra at the training sessions now compared to earlier. The win has affected all the boys positively. - John Karlsson, coach at Katrineholms SK
The players talk a lot about going to Gothia Cup this summer, something they very much long for. Above all, they look forward to play against international teams but also Swedish teams that they have not played against before. In addition to playing matches, they look forward to watching a lot of football and watch the really good teams and how they play.
In the autumn, four of the boys will move to study at a football high school, but thanks to the fact that they have some new players who have joined from other teams that have been forced to shut down, they will be able to continue playing together. Coach John is happy that they will be able to continue together, he says that it's important for those players who play just for fun that the team remains and that they can continue to play together.
