German Gold in the G17 After Dream Start: “The Best Week of My Life”

Swedish side IK Uppsala faced Germany’s SV Eutingen in the first of the 2026 finals at Gamla Ullevi. SV Eutingen emerged victorious after making a flying start, scoring twice within the opening seven minutes.

SV Eutingen were quickest out of the blocks and got off to a dream start. Just before the two-minute mark, Tirza Schuldt broke free down the left flank and calmly curled the ball into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

The German side’s dream opening continued just five minutes later when they doubled their lead. Following a corner, the ball fell kindly to Ida Kranz, who, despite a crowded penalty area, guided a low finish into the goalkeeper’s bottom-right corner.

From there, IK Uppsala gradually grew into the match and began pushing for a way back. The Swedish side struggled to create clear-cut opportunities early on, but as the first half progressed they advanced higher up the pitch and enjoyed more possession. However, they were unable to produce a truly dangerous chance, and Eutingen took a 2–0 lead into the break.

Uppsala continued to press for a goal after halftime, but it was Eutingen who created the better opportunities. Early in the second half, Ida Sülzle raced through on goal, rounded the goalkeeper, but saw her effort roll just wide. In the 44th minute, midfielder Tirza Schuldt unleashed a spectacular strike from 30 metres that crashed against the upper part of the goalkeeper’s left post before bouncing away.

As the second half wore on, Eutingen grew stronger and looked increasingly dangerous on the counterattack. With 12 minutes remaining, the German side put the result beyond doubt, making it 3–0. Once again, Ida Kranz found space following a corner and made no mistake with the finish. Jubilant celebrations erupted both on the pitch and on the Eutingen bench.

IK Uppsala had one final opportunity to pull a goal back in the closing moments. Hanna Lennström found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but Alina Berndsen produced an outstanding save to deny her, sealing the final victory for SV Eutingen.

Ida Kranz, who scored twice in the final, was named the Match MVP. After the match, she tried to put her feelings into words.

– It feels very, very good. It is unbelievable. The whole team is important and a single player is not possible to make a win on her own. It is only possible as a team. Everybody contribute.

Nu ska de fira guldet med stil

– We are really going to celebrate – we are going to sing and dance all the way home to Stuttgart.

The MVP of the final Ida Kranz.
