SKF supports the roll-out of Covid-19 vaccine

For developing countries and economies with less resources, the lack of available infrastructure and the ability to obtain vaccine doses could increase the inequalities. SKF has therefore chosen to make a donation to the Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI) and Covax programs - to help the millions of people around the world who have difficulty accessing Covid-19 vaccinations.

When Covid hit and Gothia Cup got cancelled, the team Dundalk Schoolboys decided to donate the money they raised for the trip to Gothenburg to a local charity that were greatly affected by the pandemic. Now, Brian and his players are planning the trip to Gothenburg to participate in Gothia Cup 2022.

Great interest when Gothia Cup opened the registration

Today, Gothia Cup opened the registration for 2022 and the interest were great even this year. The category for local teams got filled within a few minutes. The interest were great for the other categories as well - over 600 teams are already registered for next summers' tournament.

Gothia Cup starts a new tournament in Mexico

Gothia Cup expands across the Atlantic Ocean. In January 2023, the first edition of Gothia Cup Cancun will be played. - Mexico is a genuine football country, and it feels extra fun to be able to implement the new tournament now, to be able give the youths hope and faith about the future again, after such a long lock down due to the pandemic, says Dennis Andersson, general secretary at Gothia Cup.

Gothia Cup 2021 is cancelled

Due to the pandemic, there will be no Gothia Cup 2021. The governmental restrictions and the Swedish Public Health Agency’s prognosis have forced us to take the decision to cancel the tournament, a second consecutive year.
