Due to the warm weather forecast, the tournament management has decided to implement cooling breaks in matches starting from 12:00.
During Gothia Cup, a large number of volunteers work every year. And for many, it is their first experience on the job market. As part of the Sports X Jobs project, around twenty young people are being validated this year at Gothia Cup. – It feels fantastic to give young people the opportunity to gain the experience needed to enter the workforce, says project manager Anna Johansson.
Gothia Cup Foundation makes it possible for young people from all over the world to participate in the tournament in Gothenburg, regardless of background or circumstances. – This is the best tournament I’ve played, says Justin David Andrade Pleitez.
On the field, the matches follow one after another and the referees have been busy all day. Marcus Noterius is on site with around 20 young referees who carefully monitor the game and ensure that the rules are followed. – You develop every day and with every match, says Hugo Danielsson, who is officiating his first tournament at Gothia Cup.
After a week filled with joy, and tough matches, the finals of the Gothia Special Olympics Trophy were decided on Friday in Gothenburg. Fifty teams from all over the world took part.
Packed stands at Härlanda Park 2 as FC Ordin and Hanvikens SK faced off in the B17 group. All eyes were on Lucca Leite – son of Ballon d'Or winner Kaká. – I've never experienced this kind of attention before, says Luca Celico Leite
Celebrations of joy and excitement followed as Bauleni United was named the winner of the Best Costume Award 2025 after their performance at Monday’s Opening Ceremony. The G16 team impressed the crowd with traditional attire and a dance that reflected their cultural heritage.
