As part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the world’s largest youth football tournament, BK Häcken has appointed Niclas Freiholtz as the new Secretary General of the Gothia Cup. – Niclas brings experience and history, but just as importantly a strong focus on development. Record-breaking interest in Gothia Cup – registrations pouring in

Soon after Gothia Cup opened registration for next year’s tournament, it is clear that interest has never been greater. Compared to the same period last year, the number of registered teams is three times higher. – We are stronger than ever, says Niclas Freiholtz, Tournament Director of Gothia Cup.

The registration for Gothia Cup next summer is now open. The tournament will take place in Gothenburg from July 12th–18th, 2026, and is once again expected to bring youth teams from all over the world together for a week filled with football, joy, and friendship.
